Description: What a fantastic day of exploring the Florida swamps this was! After comparing a number of geologic and topographic maps, we set out to a completely new location, strongly suspecting the area should contain fossils, specifically Miocene age shark teeth and other fossils from that time period. There's something both exciting and therapeutic about exploring an area not only unknown to you, but unknown to most people. This was primarily a scouting trip to find new locations to hunt at a later date, so we covered a lot of ground, lightly checking interesting spots we found along the way.
